This agreement is between you and Kevin Marsh ("I", "me"), the developer of the Cartographer's Lie app. By downloading or using the app you accept it. If you do not accept it, do not use the app.

This agreement is concluded between you and me only, and not with Apple. I, not Apple, am solely responsible for the app and its content. This agreement does not provide for usage rules for the app that conflict with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
I grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set out in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the app may be accessed and used by other accounts associated with you via Family Sharing or volume purchasing. The licence is for your own non-commercial enjoyment.
You sign in with Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. One person, one account — do not share an account or use another person's. You must be at least 13 years old to use the app.
Cartographer's Lie offers an optional auto-renewing subscription, Cartographer's Guild, in two forms:

Prices shown are for the United States; the price in your country is set in local currency and shown in the App Store before you buy. Both plans belong to the same subscription group, so you can switch between them without holding two subscriptions at once.
Auto-renewal. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period ending. Manage or cancel your subscription in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
All payments are handled by Apple, not by me. I cannot issue refunds, and I have no access to your payment details. Refund requests go to Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com, and are decided under Apple's policies. If I change the subscription price, Apple will notify you and, where required, ask you to consent before the new price applies; you may cancel instead.
Guild membership unlocks additional features, which currently include the full competitive ladder and unlimited streak freezes. I may add, change or remove membership features over time. If I remove something substantial from an active membership, you may cancel and seek a refund from Apple. Membership does not entitle you to any specific puzzle, ranking or outcome.
The game is a daily competition, so the following are not permitted:
If I find that an account has done these things, I may reset its ratings and streaks, remove it from leaderboards, or suspend or terminate it. Where a terminated account holds a paid subscription, you may seek a refund from Apple; I cannot grant one.
If you publish puzzles as a setter, you keep ownership of what you create, and you grant me a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, distribute and promote those puzzles within the app for as long as you keep them published and afterwards to the extent needed to preserve other players' history. You confirm that what you submit is your own and does not infringe anyone else's rights. I may decline to publish, or remove, any submitted puzzle.
The app, its generated puzzles, maps, artwork and code are mine or my licensors' and are protected by copyright.
I am solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support services for the app, as required under applicable law. You and I acknowledge that Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the app.
I aim to keep the game running daily but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Features may change, and the service may be suspended for maintenance or discontinued. If I discontinue the service entirely while you hold an active paid subscription, I will stop future renewals; refunds for the unused portion remain a matter for Apple.
Except where excluded below, I am solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent they have not been effectively disclaimed. In the event of any failure of the app to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app to you, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the app, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be my sole responsibility.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows. To the fullest extent permitted by law, my total liability arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim arose, and I am not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost data, ratings or streaks.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep the statutory rights available to you under the law of your country of residence, and nothing here overrides them.
I, not Apple, am responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the app or your possession or use of the app, including but not limited to: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the app fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation. This agreement does not limit my liability to you beyond what applicable law permits.
In the event of any third-party claim that the app, or your possession and use of the app, infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, I, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of any such claim.
You must comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the app, including the terms of your wireless data service plan.
You represent and warrant that: (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
You may stop using the app at any time and delete your account from within it. I may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach this agreement, ordinarily with notice where it is practical to give it.
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the state and federal courts located in Florida will have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the law of your country of residence.
Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement, and upon your acceptance of its terms and conditions, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce this agreement against you as a third-party beneficiary.
I may update this agreement. The date at the top will change and material updates will be surfaced in the app. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised terms.
